Digitization of audits at SEW: the challenges
Before the introduction of cluetec Audit, audits at SEW-EURODRIVE were realized with a flood of formats and isolated solutions. Excel spreadsheets, image files, Word documents, PowerPoint slides and PDFs were scattered on SharePoints and in folders. KPIs were difficult to compare, evaluations were done manually and actions were processed by email. The result? A lack of transparency, high costs and actions that are tracked until their effectiveness is confirmed – for example, during 5S audits on the store floor.
cluetec Audit: From pilot to shopfloor standard
The pilot project with cluetec Audit started in 2022 at a plant in Graben-Neudorf. Production cell audits on the store floor were the starting signal. The aim: standardized audits and inspections along the entire machine life cycle from supplier acceptance to end-of-life audits. Following a successful test phase, the decision was made to gradually roll out to other locations and external auditors in 2023.
